Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise  Partnership came together to engineer the conditions needed to drive forward business prosperity and grow our  net contributions to the wider UK economy. 

 With one-third of the land designated an Area of  Outstanding Natural Beauty or greenbelt and our grammar schools leading the way in the best performing schools  system in the country, Buckinghamshire is a magnet for talent, with evidence showing we have the best educated workforce in the land. 

 Buckinghamshire offers a perfect location for globally  focused businesses, including Pinewood, ESRI, Silverson, Cisco, Instron and many more. No surprise then that we  display one of the highest employment growth rates of any LEP area. No surprise that the National Space Propulsion Centre has chosen Buckinghamshire as its home. No surprise that Arla Europe’s largest Dairy Plant was attracted to the county. 

 In addition, by sector, professional, scientific and  technical businesses account for over a fifth (20.4%) of Buckinghamshire’s total workforce, ahead of construction  (10.7%) and ICT (10.0%). Buckinghamshire has the 2nd highest proportion of firms in the professional, scientific and technical sector of any LEP behind London, the 3rd  highest proportion of property companies and the 4th highest proportion of creative sector companies. 

 Buckinghamshire is at the centre of England’s Economic  Heartland an area that stretches from Oxfordshire to Cambridgeshire. The heartland has an economy valued at £92.5bn, and is home to 3.45 million people, 175,000 businesses employing 1,640,000 people. 

 All of this and 45 minutes from central London, skirted by  the M25, M1 and M40, and just 40 minutes from Heathrow airport with property prices up to 50% cheaper than London.

 It is therefore no accident that we are the creative film  engine for James Bond and Star Wars at Pinewood Studios, the home of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and the birthplace of the Paralympic movement at Stoke  Mandeville.
